A Shapely Lobby Chair

I make it my goal to be inspired no matter where I am. I try my best to find something interesting everywhere, whether that be a tree, a chair, or even a trash can. While waiting in a lobby today, one of the chairs I would usually overlook caught my eye. Saying it has an interesting shape may be its only obvious quality, but whatever the case, I knew instantly I wanted to draw it. There was the texture of the chair alongside the texture of the side table, which I felt challenged to reproduce. The large shapes that made up the chair, as well as the curves where the furniture joined, made it surprisingly fun to sketch. The perspective was somewhat tricky, but I know practice sessions like this help me improve. In the end, I felt proud of this sketch.
