Last Light on Ghost Ranch
I do not usually like to share sketches that I had little time for, but there was something to learn in this case. I wanted to explore Ghost Ranch during golden hour to capture the intense oranges, reds, yellows, and purples. We left later than planned, and by the time I arrived the sun was already dropping behind the mountains.
I had only about ten minutes to sketch, though I did not realize it at the time. I worked quickly to capture an impression of the structures before the light disappeared. At first I wanted to dismiss the result, but later I saw the value in it. The sketch still holds a glimpse of what must have been there, and for that reason I decided it was worth sharing.
